Funding and Spending

 

Funding has come from the following sources:-

 

FUNDRAISING

 

  • Volunteers fundraising including through Justgiving
  • Individual donations which have included the amount of £1000.00 from one dentist
  • 2016 Burmaball - raised over £13,000 for materials and equipment.
  • Pembridge Hall School – Donation of hundreds of toothbrushes and toothpaste

All BDA Metropolitan branch meetings at British Dental Association Headquarters in London

 

23rd June

Iben Rohde Jensen hygienist at NHS Dentist, Fulham, took part in the half marathon in Hamburg on behalf of Burmadent.

 

12th October

The First Burmaball held at Eight, Private Members Club in the City. All 140 tickets were sold and there was a long waiting list for tickets. This event raised over £14,000.00.

 

October and November

Two fundraising dinners by Pearly Tan and John O’Dea for their volunteering trip in December.

 

30th November

Burmese Dinner organised by Sandar Wade, volunteer for Christmas 2014.

 

2014

 

5th March, 7th May, 4th June, 2th July, 3th September, 1st October.

All BDA Metropolitan branch meetings at British Dental Association Headquarters in London

 

15th February

Social event organised by Sandar.

 

2nd March

Katherine Howes the receptionist from Sandar’s work, ran a half marathon in Reading on 2nd March and donated the sponsor money. Staff from Oasis Wantage were her main sponsors.

 

22nd May

Federation of London LDCs Open Meeting 22nd May

 

March

Pembridge Hall School in London donated these toothbrushes and toothpaste in March 2014

 

2016

 

May

Burmaball at the Eight Club in The City of London. Master of ceremonies, Rt Hon Greg Hands MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, honoured guests included the Danish Ambassador and the Deputy Burmese Ambassador and Burmese First Secretary.

 

 

SPENDING

 

Spending has been as follows:-

 

  • Purchased two mobile units for use in outreach programmes such as orphanages, schools and remote villages
  • Purchased a X ray machine for the Ay Thar Yar clinic
  • Purchased for the hand instruments and small equipment plus dental materials for a year for Ay Thar Yar clinic and Metta Hospital
  • Local transport of volunteers to the workplaces.

 

BURMADENT INCURS NO SALARIES OR ADMINISTRATION CHARGES, THESE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FREE BY OUR TRUSTEES. EVERY PENNY YOU CHOOSE TO DONATE OR FUNDRAISE GOES TO TREATING PATIENTS IN BURMA.
